I was once told that if you are to going into business for yourself you need to make sure that your concept is unique, and separates you from your competition. This was probably the best advice any one has ever giving me because it shaped how I presented my business to the world. The Bounce House business is no different from any other business, if you are just one of the faces in the crowd your sale will also be ordinary sales.
Who wants to be ordinary? I don’t know about you but I dislike any and everything that is defined as ordinary. Exceptional people never set out to be ordinary; their goal is to be exception. My person goal is to always own an exceptional business which will buy me an exceptional car, that I parked in front of my exceptional house.
I don’t make any excuse for the boldest of my last statement because in the business world customers are more attracted to whatever is new, exciting, and creative. Show me a very successful business and I will show you a business that is rooted in creative exceptional thinking.
Your bounce house inventory should represent your business philosophy. Keep in mind that you are what you inflate at the customer’s home; therefore you should always inflate impressive inflatables. We are all familiar with the traditional bounce house units, but as you select your inventory you need to really try to separate yourself from your competition.
One of the ways to make sure that your inventory is totally unique is to shop every competitor within your market in order to gage their general concept. Once you fully shop all of the companies in the area compile a general theme list of their inventory and then begin the process of selecting your inflatable castles. Once you have a general theme list compiled from your competitors, I now want you to go in a completely different direction with the selection of your inventory.

There are dozens of manufactures willing to sell you as many inflatable play structures as you can afford, but no one is willing to take the time to teach you how all of the dynamics will produce a return on your investment.
I challenge you to promote a unique inventory of party castles, and you will begin to attract the type of customers that are looking for something different for this year’s party. Many times I would get calls from customers asking me very directly what else’s do we offer other than the traditional spacewalk? As you begin this process of selecting your inventory I would like you to ask yourself the same question. Approach your inventory selection process with the goal of having the most unique inventory in your market, and the customers will find you.
