Using a Business Check to Market Your Business

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Business checks can provide real cost-saving results for many home business owners.  Typically, owners simply deposit the money into their personal accounts and then use a debit card or write a check to pay their bills. However, the personal checks are just that, personal and it only lists your name.  If you want people to know that you own a business, you can actually use a business check to help advertise and market your business.

For example, make-up consultants that operate a business from home may run by the grocery store or to the local supercenter to pick up a few things for the house.  Writing a personal check doesn’t help them let people know that they have a business; however if they were to use a business check when paying, the cashier may take note that the checks actually says, “Jane Doe, Make-up Consultant”.  This can increase the chances of gaining a new customer.

Using a business check in this manner can help you increase your sales thereby increasing your bottom line, possibly expand your business territory and service area, and of course gain new customers.  Letting people know that you have a business, whether you sell a product or a service, is the key to increasing your bottom line.

You will never succeed if you do not advertise your business is some manner.  For small business owners, like many businesses that may be performed from home or on a part time basis, taking advantage of even the littlest ideas can prove to have a large impact in the end.

Even if you do not want to open a separate account for your business, purchasing checks that reflect your business and adding the extra text like, “Make-up Consultant”, can also help to gain some attention.  The choice is completely yours.
